Partly because they're based on astrology, and partly because it's blatantly obvious that whoever wrote the article is that star sign and think that makes them the Best Person Ever (tm) and they always have some "Don't fuck with people of this sign" type of warning. And then there's the whole trend of referring to the person as "Your Aries" or "Your Gemini" that makes them sound like some sort of exotic pet.
