I only read one orc series, the author is Finley Fenn. It isn’t woke at all lol. But, I also wouldn’t call it like, a throwback to the 70s or something. They’re still way more sensitive than that. And bisexual. And they produce a *lot* of semen. Like a truly hilarious amount. There was a new one that came out last month that was an MMF but somehow there was less semen, maybe she’s gotten some “maybe less nut?” notes from her editor. Sensitive bisexual orcs may read pozzed to you but for me as long as I’m dealing with what from my perspective are the good kind of bisexuals (male and no more than a Kinsey 2) and there is no political nonsense shitting it up it is not pozzed to me.
Now I can recommend you what I consider to be experimental highbrow monster porn, author is R. Lee Smith. Her heroes include a thinly veiled Predator, a thinly veiled District 9 Bug Alien, lizard man alien, Zombie Jesus, and while I didn’t finish this one so I’m not sure, I think like the actual devil, and knowing her he wasn’t gonna be some regular ass demon oh no, knowing her he was gonna be legit Satan. Anyway she hasn’t really published much in nearly 10 years but it was good stuff. Thoughtful. I mean wouldn’t Jesus really be a zombie and if we had the zombie apocalypse wouldn’t He be involved? And if Jesus actually really did roll up on this world how would He be treated, like really? And you think she’s fixin’ to cut away just because this hero has a cloaca? I think the fuck not you will be dealing with the reality of what this mess would be.
But I feel you, historicals are my refuge from the woke. I also think we’re in much less trouble than readers of other genres, we all know YA is hopelessly, irrevocably pozzed, and why is this? Why, schools and libraries of course. We are relatively safe from utter pozzing in adult romance the same way porn is safe, simply because there is no entity like the government schools out there buying pozzed adult romance and adult porn to force on kids (they get special Newberry Medal porn!), it actually has to be desirable content to the adult consumer. They can take over RWA all they want, still ain’t nobody buying that shit. Some of the least woke historical authors right now are black women writing white romance, these ladies know what they grew up reading and they don’t want to read about black people either.

Interesting how this fellow is apparently a man of faith, yet seems to blame God for his predicament. It wasn't God that put that scalpel in the doctor's hand, Fanny. You only have yourself to blame for taking this idea of being a woman and running with it. The sooner he realizes his role in his own destruction, the sooner he might be able to salvage however little of his dignity he might have left. Even if the more-permanent effects of transitioning cannot be reversed, he can at least redefine his life to be about more than his yearning to be a woman. And he might even be able to repair his obviously strained relationship with his parents and sister. But that's not going to happen, so long as he stews in his regret and seeks to blame others for his self-imposed problems.
