Geoff's also lived a much harder life than Jack. Significantly harder. Admittedly most of that is Geoff's fault but the point still stands.

All i was trying to say is that Geoff's had a tough row to hoe especially compared to someone like Jack who has lived quite the blessed life

It's always funny to me how someone who's gotten the shit end of the stick like Geoff will spare you his water bottle when you need it, while someone like Jack will tell you where the nearest place to buy one is at before walking off.

Jack's lived a very easy life and being separated from suffering doesn't help a person build compassion. Geoff, for all his many many flaws, has compassion in spades. I honestly think that Geoff is a good person even as much as I shit on him, but with that said I think he needs to do some introspection and reaffirm a sense of self-worth so that he can stop getting stepped on all the time.

He probably felt very proud of building the thing and thought that Joel was patronizing and minimizing his accomplishment by making jokes about it, remember that Jack's most crippling character flaw has always been his arrogance. I also wouldn't be surprised if Jack and Joel never really liked each other much, or at least if Jack never really liked Joel.
