Gender non-conformity and homosexuality in Japan has a bunch of facets to it. What you're talking about is the tradition of having kabuki parts for women played by boys, and these often also played the role of prostitutes because Kabuki actors were often indentured servants literally sold to the theater for a set term of service. But homosexuality (especially male homosexuality) appears in Japanese culture a lot.Ok, thanks for your explanation, so like they are turned off by man's bodies but they like dick at the same time? Anyway, i getting out of topic, one more thing that troons like to do is take some unreleated pratice from another culture and claim that said culture was pro trans, and use as a example of how trans people always existed like for example in japan if i not mistaken some young boys used to dress like woman and have relationship with man and trans like to frame this was some sort of third gender, and they are the reason why transvestites are so prominent in anime, this or i might speaking out of my ass.
Regardless, certainly not equivalent of modern trans ideology.
