Gender non-conformity and homosexuality in Japan has a bunch of facets to it. What you're talking about is the tradition of having kabuki parts for women played by boys, and these often also played the role of prostitutes because Kabuki actors were often indentured servants literally sold to the theater for a set term of service. But homosexuality (especially male homosexuality) appears in Japanese culture a lot.

Regardless, certainly not equivalent of modern trans ideology.

Jessie Singal spent the day getting death threats and "do a flip fattie" from "the right side of history" because he supports trans children transitioning. With caveats, like not just handing out pills like candy. People in his comments were asking for proof that he has EVER attacked trans children or adults, because we'll, he hasn't. He just talks about moderation and caution. Make it make sense. I really admire the way he handles himself under the constant stream of hate he gets.

I wish some of the legal efforts would start differentiating between gay shit and troonery. It is not that I think gay shit is harmless and ok, I’ve come to see it as the slippery slope I kept being told it was, and I’m definitely in the mood to put all the degenerates in a pit and pull up the ladder.

However. If say the Florida law differentiated...so, some kids will have two moms right? There is a perfectly valid reason why a first grader with two moms might mention his moms. Because they’re real and they exist. So while teachers need to keep it zipped, it’s fine to respond and smile, and if the other kids are confused, to simply say “some families come in different varieties, what’s important is that parents and kids love and respect one another.”

But gender and queer shit is fake. It isn’t real. There is no valid context in which a child would bring it up because without indoctrination no kids would know about it. Without indoctrination and degeneracy, they wouldn’t have an older sibling or dad who trooned out. Same way they wouldn’t know what drag queens are without being exposed to inappropriate degeneracy.

Thus, I would prefer the law differentiate. Faggotry, if brought up by a student and with appropriate context (non-political), is ok to acknowledge briefly and without detail or the teacher driving or encouraging the conversation. Nobody has to affirm or try to claim its virtuous and you must endorse it or you’re a bad person, because the families of the rest of the kids deserve respect as well, and some of those families may object. But everyone can agree I hope that a kid in class mentioning their gay dads shouldn’t be ridiculed or made to feel bad about it, it isn’t her fault, and she loves her dads, and that should be respected.

But gendershit? Gendershit is to be shut down and not discussed even if a kid brings it up, any more than you’d use “hey second grade teacher my teenage brother showed me porn last night, let’s talk about rimming” as a teaching moment.

This approach would also let the public start to do the mental exercise of separating LGB from the rest. Orientation is orientation. The rest are paraphilias and Cluster Bs. The eliding of that difference has led to a lot of this mess.

It's a way to feel better about a situation they're otherwise powerless about. It serves no purpose and the people doing it know it. Except the intellectual sperg in the upper right. That took a lot of effort. People used to do the same thing when the only option was tracking down a mailing address and paying postage.

IMO the “ZOMG THE CHASERS FETISHIING MEEEE!” is performative.

To them, women are That Which Men Want To Fuck. They also hear apocryphal stories about how bad street harassment is, and think oh to be a woman is to be desired and be harassed because of it. So they pretend they’re harassed on the street even though if they ever are it’s mockery.

Similarly, they’ve heard apocryphal stories about chasers and they think oh, to be desired is to experience chasers. So they pretend they encounter them frequently and pretend they aren't into it if it ever does happen. Otherwise, how can they accomplish having what they believe is the core defining feature of a woman, ie men wanting to fuck them.

It's because Jesse has a relatively moderate take : Gender Dysphoria is real, but the evidence around youth transition is lacking and we should be extra cautious.

They're attacking Jesse as a warning to other journalists/people to not take up this position. They don't want more people to look into, to find exactly what Jesse found....the evidence is lacking or incomplete.

You either have to let 14 year Olds sterilize themselves or you think they deserve to be genocided. There is no in-between.

This is one of the things that doesn't make sense even using their internal logic. Being trans supposedly means you suffer from gender dysphoria, a mental illness that makes a person feel as though they are the wrong gender, treatments for gender dysphoria would be aimed at making the person no longer have those feelings, or failing that, make them able to deal with those feelings in ways that aren't destructive. Transitioning is considered to be the most effective treatment for gender dysphoria, that's a very drastic procedure, yet if someone has gender dysphoria, transition is supposed to start immediately.

if I had a mental illness, I wouldn't want the psychiatrist to go straight to the most extreme treatment available, like if I had schizophrenia, I wouldn't want to go straight to ECT or lobotomy, I'd want to start with therapy, and if that doesn't work, medication, and so on. If you look at gender dysphoria like any other mental illness, transitioning should only be used when nothing else works, as a last resort, but if you even suggest alternative treatments you are literally hitler and you must be banned for hate post haste
