I can tell you why I call myself a bitch. My parents called me bitchy for years, starting when I was a teenager. I had an undiagnosed mood disorder but go on. I eventually adopted it as an identity label because it was easier to reclaim it, even though I'm generally NOT a bitch, than to fight them on it.
I suspect that process (minus the child abuse!) is similar for a lot of women. Showing negative emotions at any point gets us labeled a bitch, when coming from men gets them labeled assertive and commanding. So I suspect a lot of women just say "fuck it, guess I'm a bitch then".
Give me the tmi reacts, but they asked.

Thats weird for me since in my country, bitch ( the equivalent in our language ) is almost always used with the same connotation as whore, so its weird to me see some american women using it, anyway, thank you for the insight. I mean some use, but always in the first person was a way to say "i really angry" but i don't think that its the same situation, since man also use the masculine version of the slur for the same purpose.
And i feel sorry for you, a parent should never treat their child like that.

My main takeaway from this is that 19% of trans women in that sample are HSTS.
The only stat I have to reference is that there's been a 1460% increase in boys referred to the Tavistock Clinic (the only clinic in the UK that treats children) over the last decade. This probably is Not How Stats Work but if that held true across samples then this would mean there's been a 277% increase across a decade for HSTS referrals, and in 2018/19, 119 HSTS boys were referred to the Tavistock Clinic (out of 624).
Still a lot but that could be explained by "greater awareness" etc. Certainly those feel like more reasonable numbers.
