If Chibi ever does make his way to Florida (It's a shame the move is scheduled for winter. I'd love to see him get down there mid-July and be physically crushed under the humidity.
Then again I'm also hoping to leave the games scene entirely very soon as I'd like to be paid enough to eat and live a decent life.
I speak with a number of game AI developers who are "regular" programmers as their main job. They all say the same thing: pursue it [game development] as a hobby, not as a way to make money. Besides the fact that turning your hobbies into your work is a great way to grow to hate the things you love, everything that you both said rings true concerning the job market and the compensation. A recent discussion we had basically centered on the fact that doing the same kind of work in a game dev setting as in a regular business will net you 1/3rd the salary, if that. And, as mentioned above, you are replaceable as fuck - usually by someone just as naive as you, who thinks that making games will be as fun as autisticly playing them.Yeah, honestly I find the idea of anyone (espeicially Chibi) doing a dedicated Game Development degree, at best (and Chibi will not be a at best situation) you are going into an industry with a massive worker surplus. The average person going for a job in game dev will be way more talented than him and because every zoomer wants to "make games" companies will at best pay you like shit (for the skill the job is required) and replace you the second you being there would be even slightly inconvenient because there are effectively endless people to replace you with. This is the best case senario for breaking into this industry and Chibi besides being less than averagely competent has gone out of his way to attatch his name to dirt that would make jobs with no worker surplus think twice before hiring him. Ironically Chibi's current job is probably 1000x more stable than any game dev job out there; A job he sucks at, no one there likes him and is basically just trying to wring a few more $ out of boomers for cellphones
It's 100% for attention. We all know he is desperate for it. I agree that he likely uses it as bait too, just to try and recruit more emotional tampons for his cause. It's like that shitty PUA tactic of "peacocking" i.e. wearing loud and ridiculous clothing to try to offset the fact that you are an ugly incel. The only way he could be more blunt about it is if he wrote "WANTSo, I was contemplating slightly on why Adam's choice in shirts is so cringe inducing. Pretty much everyone has shirts related to a band or media they enjoy, or just liked the printed design on. T-shirts are a pretty casual staple for most people. I then realized that, unlike regular people who like a design or a little reference, Adam goes out of his way to wear things that will bring him attention. People will obviously double take at some grown ass man in rainbow Pokemon shirts for one, and as far as the stuff like the Kirby shirt or the Yugioh one he just got, he not only gets the loudest design to stand out, but will absolutely use it as an excuse to try and make friends or attract nerd women. I 100% believe he launches into a passionate tirade whenever an unassuming passerby says "Oh, I like your shirt!"
