Yes of course men want emotional connections with and without sex. Men value closeness, attention, support, family and caring partners, these aren't female only desires the slightest. Men do however enjoy more no strings attached sex than ladies. This isn't a judgment towards men or women, this just one of those things we are different on average. Different best mating strategies between genders just have resulted in different sexual behavior and sex drives.

This is partly why there are different patterns with FtMs and MtFs, even when both do it for sexual reasons. Normal men don't have the same desire to display our bodies to the world unless it's some sort of niche fetish, because male sexuality tends to be reactive whereas female sexuality tends to be receptive (there are exceptions to everything, but generally woman prefer the courtship role of pursued quarry). If a man went through all that mutiliation and hormonal change just so his weewee wouldn't feel shame when he was being a degenerate, perhaps then he has more in common with AGPs than previously anticipated.
