Mega Rad Gun Thread

I will be selling my Gen 5 G19 and assorted accoutrements to buy a new carry pistol. Why? I can conceal a full size, and most of the time I'm open carrying anyway so that doesn't really matter. I handled my friend's 92FS the other day and really liked the way it felt, so that's leading me to want a full size DA/SA steel frame.

My choices seems to be: 92FS, 1911, or some CZ variant. Are there any I'm missing? Any I should outright avoid (besides dirt cheap 1911's)? I'd be fine with anything 9mm or The Lord's Caliber.

Edit: I would really want an HK USP but that's slightly out of my price range.
HK P30's can be had for around $700 or less. They are a "USP", sort of.

They use VP9 sights, and fit in VP9 holsters, so you can easily find gear for HK's past mistake as its all compatible with its current one, more or less. HK tax for magazines isn't that bad, either. (again, it uses VP9 magazines, of which there are many).

CZ75. They’re very thin for what they are and are essentially what JMB would have made if technology had permitted him.

Don’t get rid of the G19 man. Your trade in value isn’t gonna be worth it and frankly everyone should have one.

One thing to think about is used HK pistols if you're on a budget, for the most part the only thing that tends to wear out is the springs which aren't a major pain to replace and are still available.

Even the police surplus USP40 I own probably had quite a few rounds through it based on the barrel and other internal parts wear. I'm fairly certain that gun will outlast me. The other used one I purchased was around 600 and I swear the previous owner only put a box through it, there wasn't any wear anywhere on that thing.

USP’s are durable as fuck. The magazine release compared to the P30, HK45 or VP9 is awful and its rail system might as well not exist. It’s an objectively outdated design.

193 and M855 are dog shit designed for a war that never happened and compliance with The Hague Convention. Both perform like absolute dogshit on unarmored targets while zipping through too much dry wall.

MK262 and its clones are the way to go.
You drunk or something?

You get shot center mass by M193 at home defense distance and you are most likely dead. Look no further than the wife beater Kyle killed, 1 hit center mass was dead within 10 seconds.

Here's my FrankenSolus pistol so far.
..............................
I can't make the bolt release fit yet and need to bend the bolt handle 45deg but I'm pleased so far. Also needs lower scope rings.
Almost there

The extractor won't extract. That's all that's left. The extractor won't extract.

Hey guys, I was thinking of getting these grips for my 1911.

Do you think it would fit well if me wearing croc shoes and a cowboy hat while going "Hhiiiihhhththhhsss" every time someone asks me where I got the grip? Also, I was thinking of wearing it with a Jake the Snake T-Shirt.

Do you know how many people have been killed by 380 FMJ?

Just because a load will kill you doesn’t mean it’s even close to ideal.

M193 is for stockpiling after you’ve ran out of the better loads in your rifle and carrier.

I'm assigning you a movie to watch.

Also I have a pair of grips from Wicked Grips, they're pretty good. There's a slight texture so the aluminum doesn't slide around in your hand.

That movie to this day makes me afraid some retard in a cult is going to try to kill my girlfriend because she saw him kissing a sonic the hedgehog doll or something.

Hmmmm... but $60 for screws as well? Can't I just like, spray paint my screws and glue Bedazzled jewelry on in?

You can do what you want, I'm just some asshole on a forum dedicated to watching deranged weirdos.
realistically just use the ones you already have or buy cheap bedazzled ones off ebay

If m193 isn't lethal enough for you at self defense ranges you need to learn to shoot.

Just use Winchester whitebox 223, you pussies.

The shooting distance in even the most sprawling, open floorplan ranch home is practically point blank for most rifle rounds. A home invaders chest cavity can't tell the difference between Tula and M855 as long as you can hit the mark.

Sanity check: Is there any need for anything more than basic bitch XM193 for AR-15 defensive ammo?
I keep my mags loaded with Hornady Black 75gr HD SBR but I don't think theres anything wrong with using anything except M855.

Any of the popular 5.56 rounds are going to be dumping like 4x the energy that a handgun will anyways, and handguns are the most popular option for home defense in the United States.

I'm just a couple hundred short of being able to finally buy my Python Combat Elite. It's painful being so close, but so far from finally having it. Once it's bought then I just need things like the holster, speed loaders, new grips, and possibly an upgraded rear sight since I've heard some iffy things about the stock sight. Once all that's paid for then I'm going to start saving to send my dad's Ruger Super Blackhawk to Gary Reeder to get restored/customized. After that? Probably going to take out a loan to buy a Freedom Ordnance FM-9D belt-fed (also option to use GLOCK/Kriss Vector mags) AR9, though I may decide on getting the Cloak Industries MFR-56 5.56mm belt-fed AR upper. Kinda like the FightLite MCR upper, but half the fucking price (about the same price as a complete FM-9D rifle/pistol). Either way, I'll definitely be putting an FRT in it. I've got a Lancer AR lower, the one with the swappable magazine wells, that I need to build up, but I really like the FM-9D and being 9mm it'd be dead-ass cheap to shoot for a centerfire.

You will need to get the Wilson combat rear sight. don't even take the gun to the range before replacing the rear sight. S&W 686 or GP100 speed loaders will work.
I have the Wilson combat rear sight on both my Python and Anaconda. it provides a much nicer sight picture and is rock solid. it is a required expense.
I am at 925 rounds on my Python at it has been reliable with good primers. hard foreign primers sometimes will fail to detonate in double action. US primers have been 100% reliable.
I'm at 1439 rounds in my .45 Anaconda and it has been the same save for a better trigger than the python. it's marginally better. I chalk it up to the longer trigger providing more leverage.
The Python and Anaconda are my primary EDC guns now. both ride in elpaso sadderly leather holsters.
