My running hypothesis, when the polling firms saw the bottom drop out they straight up stopped reporting.

Actually averaging older polls is normal operation for aggregates like 538, like a queue they keep the older numbers until something newer comes...

well mostly because they dont have enough good polls, but the weighting of polls should go down with time. but thats waaay to clever for that Nate...
