I don't think he'd do that to Barb. His "love" for Barb is fucking messed up sure, but in his mind i don't think he actually meant any harm.

Chris isn’t sophisticated enough for that brand of spite. He’ll say whatever he thinks will save him, and convince absolutely no one.
