It's a mind-numbingly simplistic story, is the problem. I'm not concerned about its historical inaccuracy; I said "read Herodotus."

Its a fantastically Homeric film. They played up things so it seemed like a real epic. Obvioisly not realistic, just telling a cool last stand...
