Another plainclothes guy with trained body language manhandled the guy after getting disarmed. My money is they're both plainclothes police officers.

Also put his back to something solid (the burned out car). The reddit thread speculated he was a security agent for the news crews.

Security for the local Seattle Fox station. The guy he disarmed stole it out of a burning cop car.
