They don't even seem to be in jokes. It's just "Ha, wouldn't this be funny if it happened?" and it's not.

They seem like the group that is salty that they got bullied in HS and never let go of that so they spend their whole life trying to recreate that...

Which one of them would probably turn into an assault story later if their buddy fell out of line. Or they just wanted some clout.
