They were probably hoping he would accidentally shoot himself so they could laugh at him.

And they never saw him again.... Hes still making demands someone takes him for another trip, expects others to pay for his gas and ammo

I agree, and I'm actually quite curious as to who that was. To be quite honest, I doubt they like Phil much given that we haven't heard anything...
