He'll pay more than that. He isn't a waged W2 worker. He has to pay self-employment tax which is going to be another ~$15k on top of it all.

Keep in mind if he makes $100K profit this year he's only taxed on a maximum of $68K because 20% of his self-employment profit as a pass-through...
