I think he's saying you only get 10.5 hours of sunlight on Thanksgiving regardless of whether the sun rises at 6:30 AM or 7:30 and sets at 5:00PM...

I didn't mean that as in "The sun always up 12 hours a day," but instead that if the sun is up for ten hours then it will be up for ten hours...
