Isn't sata hotswap? I can unmount and detach/attach drives without rebooting. Just start he computer with the drive unplugged, plug it in once...

I've tested it on two different computers and still won't show up as a disk anywhere. It's a Seagate 4TB Ironwolf NAS. PN is 2DR166-500.
