Did you ever try Notepad++ under Wine to see if it works for your use case? JFYI: NP++ works like a charm under Linux using Wine. Rewind the clock...

I use VS Code, and some of my project folders are about that size, a mix of small files and large ones. It searches through them quite quickly imo.

Sublime Text does that, just fine.
