Isopropyl alcohol is argued to be a better disinfectant because of its sterilization compared to vinegar, I wouldn't use alcohol for plants.

You can use lye(sodium hydroxide) to clean grease a lot better than vinegar and soap alone. That's what I use on tough grease on my cooking...
