I dont think so, cutting the fuel that low to the ground = everyone dead. There was no chance of recovering and firing the engines back up in time...

Consider if this happened at 5000 ft and they were able to recover. Now there's an investigation into why the fuel control switches had apparently...

The "He who Smelt it, Dealt it" Doctrine may apply in this case. We don't know which pilot said what. But the investigators certainly do.

It wasn't quick though. If you operate on the assumption that one guy turned them off, the other noticed, said something, then turned them back...
