Those are fashion corsets. Daily wear corsets didn't pinch the waist as much nor deform the ribs. It's very similar, actually, to how binders fuck...

Those last photos are most likely faked. Even back then people "photoshopped".

The top image is normal, the waist fat is flexible. The two photos at the bottom are obviously edited, it's literally impossible to have a waist...
