looks like bone conductor earphones. might be part of a hearing aid, i wouldnt doubt it considering how old and what bad shape his body is. but...

A while back the thread was discussing Rich's bone-conduction headphones.

Those are 100% bone conducting headphones, which are amazing for situations in which you don’t care about audio fidelity. I have the exact same pair.

Definitely ear conducting headphones, like these
