Yeah, erythrosine (red #3) is banned in many countries, with an EU exception for its use in cocktail cherries. Red #40 is commonly used instead...

California just banned it last year.

The worst part is? You can get them in just about every color out there. Of course they're flavored but still... this is nasty.
