Well someone's already come up with Mx (pronounced mix) for a neutral Mr/Mrs, so who knows, maybe that'll come normal soon.

Also people who do identify as non binary never actually make the effort to look androgynous so you can't blame the poor waiters and store clerks...

To be fair, I've often used "madam" as a mock-respectful way of calling someone a whore.
