Interestingly, Tor has also published noted lolcow Patrick Tomlinson. His books are very bad with awkward sex scenes too so maybe Tor has a type.

To me it read like someone wrote a mediocre porn fic (too many actions within each sentence, making it seem like the characters have four arms)...
