When the hangover from the Divisional Court judgement celebrations wore off it became fairly obvious that the approach taken by Keira's legal team had unexpectedly led the court down an unfortunate avenue. At first pass the judgement seemed like a victory for common sense, but it created new and bad law that would reach beyond creating shit filled neo vaginas.
We will never really know what the impact of it would be, unless its reinstated on further appeal. But there was a risk that doctors would begin to see other important treatments as experimental and requiring court authorisation. Our court system was on its knees before covid and is much worse now, so getting those declarations would delay treatments while also forcing courts to make medical judgements that should be left with doctors, kids and their families.
But if you look at the big picture. Employment tribunals, NICE guidence, other judicial reviews and an increasing body of good quality research are collectively changing the tide of public opinion.
As long as we have people like Keira who have the courage to challenge, it doesnt matter if they win or not.
Thats my analysis.

I don't buy the "we joined the military to bury our True Selves and prove that we were actually men" line. Troons love to retcon their pasts to create a neat little narrative where it all makes sense in retrospect. Another common one is "every night when I was a child I would pray to God asking him to turn me into a girl." Mhm.
As far as the actual reason why so many military and vets troon out, who knows. There are a lot of medical issues that cluster in former military that nobody has been able to yet explain (e.g. ALS). My best guess is just that military life is stressful/traumatic and trooning out is an easy and increasingly-acceptable means of hard resetting your life, so the military experience acts as a trigger for men with latent AGP.

Helen Joyce was just interviewed on a podcast I quite like called "Gender: A Wider Lens" about her new book: "TRANS: When Ideology Meets Reality"
I like her logical approach to trans nonsense (maybe her mathematical education helps).
On trans nonsense in the podcast she said: "It's an assault on reality.
There is nothing more fundamental about us than our species, and our sex.
They are trying to redifine something that is fundamental to us all. Therefore, it's not about trans people. It's about the idea. It's ideology.
They're making a truth-claim about all of society."
It just resonated with me when Helen said her book was not about trans people, (even though her book is called "Trans") but about the ideology behind it, and about the molding, and perverting of society to fit the trans world view.
It's easy to focus on weird trans shit, and loose sight of the things that trans ideology seeks to change.
