Now I think even that article was part of the gayop. He probably figures that he’s isolated enough from the english-speaking internet by living in Japan, so giving his full name wouldn’t really matter. Maybe he changed his irl name (just like he switched from Byuu -> Near), which to him represented a kind of suicide. Old name is dead, new one is an entirely different person.
