I don't like going too deep into "theory", but I can't help but think that Bella, and to a lesser extent her orbiters, were simply not keeping up with the revelations all that closely. Remember, it was Allen who was trying to get through to Bella to stop making Discords, exasperated at the fact that she still didn't understand how shitty her infosec was. Let's also not forget the sheer pace of development that occurred in a week. It was difficult for me to keep/catch up as I was doom scrolling and writing down one line summaries of all of the leaks/developments, and furthermore I expect there is ample motivation for her to just bury her head in the sand to some extent to all of this and hope it all goes away. This is all to say, I think it is quite possible that even that late into the game, Bella still didn't fully grasp just how fucked she was - so saying "nah, that's not me" to a bunch of people she had told her father was a philandering Mexican anti-government hobo isn't that far outside the realm of possibility, IMO. As to the main topic of this thread, based on my exposure to the receipts and the various allegations/admissions, I think it is undeniable that there is a
lot of "Shit Bella Says" in the mix of actual wrongdoing. However, I don't think it's necessary to completely* separate the two. She wanted her friends to believe those things about her? Great. I see nothing wrong with keeping track of all of the things that are true
and all the things she wanted other people to believe are true. I believe that those things are in many ways as indicative of the person she is as the actual things she has done.
If this is who she wants to be seen as, sure, it could in theory be playing into some perverted fantasy she has. A perverted fantasy that we can now point and laugh at. Or, maybe it was all some sort of self-sabotage, an unconsciously-motivated cry for help. Either way, I see nothing wrong with documenting
everything - as long as there are
receipts.
The fact remains that she stuck her hand shoulder-deep in the poo and got exposed for her abhorrent psyops. As far as I am concerned, she signed up for this rodeo. What we do in the dark, comes out in the light.
