Sure, if the cops think you've killed somebody they might dig into that (it usually involves hassling the telecom rather than searching your phone), but for a robbery or mugging? Pffft.

For one thing the "find my phone" stuff doesn't always work. It's also dependent on (usually) boomers figuring out how to activate it and then use it to get an address. All of that assumes the thief didn't just turn the damned thing off. Then comes the fun of convincing the police to either escort you to the phone's last known location to reclaim it or just go there themselves to confiscate it. Good luck.
