Finally got to turn my BOG Waiver to the veterans office at my college. Now I can have my college paid through the BOG rather than through my parents. All there is left to do now is just buy some books for my classes.
 
I kind of have a long story regarding my struggles with the post office, and the problem has spanned several weeks.

Right now, I've got several mailed items that have gone missing. They have not been delivered properly, although the USPS electronic tracking system claims that the items in fact were scanned as delivered. The representative at the post office insisted that the system is "always" correct, but this is a complete lie. I have never seen these items, that I PAID ACTUAL MONEY FOR. Sure, I get the bills and the junk mail (go figure), but no fucking packages. Even though they were scanned as delivered, but whatever. I'm taking it up with these bastards, and I'm going to hound them until they get off their overpaid fat asses and actually find these missing items. I've got a list of all the tracking numbers and relevant information, and I'm going to keep at it until some action is taken. Honestly, what if it was time-sensitive materials, such as college textbooks for those of us who are students, or, worse, someone's medicine? Is this the kind of service we should have to rely on? Public transportation has never sucked this bad.

You miss the part where it's your problem? I'm gonna make it your fuckin' problem.
 
I fixed my schedule again and added two online classes. This is gonna be interesting. In addition to all of that, I'm having my major changed but it won't affect me that much.
 
Well I just heard the news that my Grandmother (from my mom's side) is about to die. Which saddens me, as she's been in a near-death state for a few months now.
 
It's really early in the morning right now; I'm still wide awake—albeit a on account of the coffee I drank yesterday. I've been sitting in my room, watching videos from on the Obscure Horror Corner Youtube channel—other similar ones too. I think they've left me a little on edge.
 
This morning (at 6 am!) the police stood in front of our door, apparently some old guy crashed into our parking car. Apparently that guys cars a total-loss, to the point he couldnt drive it anymore afterwards. I have no idea how you can crash into a parking car like that.

Might sound asshole-ish, but im seriously convinced that there needs to be more strict controls of elderly cardrivers (Yearly eyesights tests for example)

I agree with you. I've seen a lot of elderly drivers who either drive too slow or cut in front of people without even looking where they're going. Kind of scary.

My late grandma was the first to tell us to take the license away the moment she plowed into a preschool. She did end up crashing (no injuries to any parties) maybe half a year before she passed away and was always aware of her actions and their resultant impacts on others. Luckily my grandpa was able to drive her to anything she needed or wanted.

My dad's dad (Grandpa Earle) was irate when y dad took his license away. Grandpa Earle and Grandma Ellie, for maybe the first unlicensed month, told my dad about how he was such a bad guy for taking independence away, etc. And I get that being 90 and still alive and aware is no small accomplishment but there's a certain point where you have to take a step back and see how you impact everyone around you.

We knew what we had to do but while the decision was easy, it also makes you realize how your parents/grandparents have aged. No one wants to be the "bad guy" but when the greater good is at stake, you have to act.

I'm doing good. My company has been working with an accelerator and I'm surrounded by an inspiring, active group. I sucked it up and got a new laptop last week because my old one was choking on graphical work I had to do, plus two inches of the screen were completely dead. I was hoping for a few more weeks for monetary reasons, but man oh man I have zero regrets.

Today I'm also celebrating what I call six years of freedom.

August 14 2009: After a lot of false starts I ended an abusive relationship that lasted three years. I never understood how hard it was to "just leave" until I was actually trying to. I've really only gone one lasting physical reminder--my front tooth has a small chip on the corner, a gift from him from one of the last times I saw him. I didn't even notice until the dentist pointed it out and it was pretty jagged. My dentist ended up grinding it down a bit and I lied and said it was from cutting thread by biting it as I was sewing a few dresses at the time. Gives my smile a little character. Mercifully it's not a big gaping hole in the front of my face

When I called it quits, it was like I could fucking fly. It was like ripping off a band-aid. I was free.

Mr. Multiples and I are going out to dinner tonight (usual thing) and just having a good time. A few weeks ago he told me that the person he broke up with is not the person I am now and it felt amazing hearing that. I'll never forget him saying that one of his best days was the day I stopped flinching when he'd touch me. Healing has certainly been a process, but the best revenge is living well.

Finished up a Psychology course. I have to wait until next week to get a final grade. It went pretty well and I got lucky on finding a course that does quizzes instead of exams. Now I just have to wait until the end of this month to start on two Fall courses.
 
Well, it finally happened. My grandmother passed away. Had to console my mother for a few minutes after she got home (I heard about this second-hand).
 
Finally got in touch with an employment agency. Step 1 on my road to getting some sort of job.

Also, on a completely unrelated topic: Does anyone know a good way of cleaning a scratched disc? Specifically one with a lot of shallow scratches? I've heard about the toothpaste method, but apparently it can fuck up your CD even more.

To elaborate, one of my games has been scratched all over for many years now. It still runs surprisingly well, but it does suffer from the occasional freezing problem. Since the game isn't unplayable and only has a few technical issues, should I just deal with it? I don't wanna risk damaging it further. In the past I've made due with breathing on it as a temporary solution.

I ate a Son of Baconator and Baconator fries and I think I'm going to die and crumble into powder.

(but I enjoyed those way more than I should have. Fries needed some Louisiana Crystal hot sauce and then they were perfect. With a meal that full it also means my meds didn't make me queasy.)

Today a mighty metal self supporting a metric asston of glass collapsed on my hands and arm. Right wrist is #rekt but I've started getting feeling back in the fingers on my left hand.
And yes, typing this does hurt. And yes, I know I'm fucking stupid to just keep typing. I NEEDED TO WHINE OK

Day was going good until some guy on the subway tried to start some shit with me because I was "cutting" in line (even though there wasn't one) and then I called him a condescending asshole to his face. When he both boarded the train, he then was like "After you" but I told him he could go first and then he did and told me that unlike me, he had manners. Sure, a guy who has to start shit with a girl young enough to be his daughter has "manners." That really made me angry and I sort made an ass out of myself on the train by calling this guy a bunch of names while he smiled smugly about it.

Just ugh. I don't want to sound like I have a victims complex but I feel like I'm a magnet for these situations which is one of the reasons I developed horrible social anxiety. I've cooled down since but idk why I'm so hurt by what some loser on the subway did to me.
 
Yeah, I just got banned for 2 days from 4chan. I reported some child porn that someone had posted so they banned me for reporting in. I'm thinking that /tg/ might not be the place to hang out if they are seriously going to ban people for reporting child porn but not do anyting for posting it.
 
The pay-as-you go mobile service I've been using suddenly sucks. Even though I paid for the minutes and added them, my mobile now can't make any calls except emergency calls. Trying to contact customer service is an exercise in futility.*

I guess it's back to landline.

So far, the day has been decent. Pretty much nearly ready for school since I haven't gotten my books in yet. Only thing that sucks is that I'd either have to wait a few days to get my books which means any work on the first week has to be done much more quickly or pay full price at campus bookstore which means an arm and leg is spent. Luckily though, there is a used bookstore across the street from the college I go to which means the price can be somewhat cheaper though still expensive. Overall, I kinda feel ready for the classes I have tomorrow.
