What's the deal with Quebec?
They're a bizarre mix of ultra-sensitive bitches about their "unique culture", ultra-nationalist assholes about said "unique culture", and whining fucking maggots about how the rest of Canada doesn't suck their cocks enough, despite them and Ontario being the primary recipients of equalization payments.
To clarify a little about the "unique culture", they're French Roman-Catholics, despise anyone that doesn't constantly speak *their* version of French, treat Anglophones as subhumans, and for 2 decades thought they were entitled to secede from Canadian national oversight, while retaining the currency, incoming funding, military protection, and freedom to travel throughout the rest of the country without passports while not recognizing the validity of Canadian passports. They also thought they'd be allowed to keep getting equalization payments from the federal gov't, but that they wouldn't be on the hook for their share of the national debt.
And in case you're wondering, equalization payments are basically welfare paid to provinces that are considered "have-nots", collected by the federal gov't from provinces that are considered "haves", and it's written directly into the Constitution. Even though Quebec and Ontario are ~58% of the Canadian population, they consistently get equalization payments from the feds, collected from Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan, despite those provinces being ~28%, because all the federal parties are basically neoliberal of varying shades, and made sure that all the manufacturing and production jobs that used to be clustered along the Great Lakes were off-shored to shitholes. That might be changing a little, now that Trudeau is completely fucking over the oilsands, though; without the oilsands and the other petrochemical extraction and processing industries, Alberta and Saskatchewan are going to be economically fucked.
