We had a straight up critical thinking module at (one of) my uni that was taken by 1st years in the hope it would start some sort of analysis of what they were learning rather than by rote (teaching people how to think, not what to think).

It ran for quite a few years then one day the student union threw a shit fit and there were loads of protests about it because the module "forced students to consider uncomfortable things". That got the uni to ban the module.

So yes, university students and the union went out of their way to make it so students weren't taught basic critical thinking skills and left to sit in their comfortable certainty that everything they feel is right is correct.

I truly despair at the student led destruction of academia.

Yeah its pretty dystopian. They turned the entire educational system into nothing more than a cult-recruitment center. I sadly, have to give the commies credit for how well this whole "March through the institutions" works. I wonder if its even possible to revert at this point. They needed to clean out the low yield grasses currently growing on the property so they could plant species that would allow them to become self-sufficient. I did not see anything labelled Turn an Arid Desert into a Fertile Grassland on the Green Cover site the idiot who asked the question recommended, but I'm sure the gang has looked into the proper seed mixture to turn the Tranch into an alpaca paradise!
