I got the vaccine because it is required for my job. Honestly tho I do a fuck ton of super unhealthy things like smoke and eat processed foods. Unless something super catastrophic happens with the vaccines I doubt it will be the thing that kills me.

I had the typical arm soreness for a few days after the first Pfizer shot but that's it. I doubt you'll react much to the first shot but the second one will probably make you feel like shit for a day. A couple of my immediate family members didn't even react to the second Pfizer shot so I guess I'll find out soon when I get my second shot.
 
I got my second Pfizer shot some days ago. I slept well the following night but felt like a couple hours short of sleep but recovered in the evening. I got an excuse to take off for that day at least.
 
I'm not against getting vaccinated but I don't want to get those mRNA vaccines. I've distinctly something against altering my own genetic make-up even if it's just a minor one. After all, we know not enough about every minute process involved in DNA/RNA it's creation, replication and mutation.

Those mRNA vaccines are also the first of their kind used on a global scale and not to mention they hadn't had any trails necessary for regular vaccines to be approved. As far as I'm concerned this is just a global experiment and I've something against being a guinea pig.

We also don't know how the virus will react with cells, who can replicate their spike proteins. I'm no expert but I suspect that the virus might interact with those alike yet foreign proteins and mutate in vastly different directions. In the long run, I think we fucked up.

It doesn't alter your DNA. You may want to look into how mRNA vaccines work; its instructions for your cells to build immunity.

You are altering your immune system though -- like every other vaccine or pathogen your body encounters.

Moderna's entire business is mRNA tech and they've never sucessfully brought a product to market or gotten FDA approval for anything they've ever produced.

Yeah, my dad didn't react at all to the vaccine and my step-mom and cousin got a headache for a day. That was it. Pretty sure the arm soreness is an almost universal thing. I get it from all vaccines. And still I am nervous.
I think all these articles about the vaccine just make people crazy. They behave as if no vaccine or drug had ever had any side-effects. They are scared of the vaccine, but the drugs they will have to take when they get ill have worse side effects. Thousands of people died just from taking Aspirin or Paracetamol.

So maybe the vaccine may be a bit of a wildcard, but so is the virus. I think I will take my chance with the vaccine because this shit virus is here to stay.

Fauci is a fucking moron, and a proven liar multiple times over to boot. If his stupid ass came out tomorrow and said "Don't get the vaccine." That might actually make me consider getting it, because he's been wrong about literally everything else related to covid so far. And you're a fucking retard if you still trust him.

You'll be fine. I got the JJ one and had no side effects or anything and that's the scary 1 in a million blood clot one. The scared retards in this thread are just beta pussies who are terrified of science because the nerds in school would make fun of them for being in remedial classes

What is the point of this?
 
Ontario opened up pharmacy vaccinations for 40 to 55 so I signed up to be notified when nearby Shoppers Drug Mart stores have slots open although the Shoppers site just kept on spamming one-time use verification codes to confirm my e-mail, none of which worked. I ended up having to sign up to be notified by text message instead even though I'm an Gen X'er who has never liked doing anything on a smartphone.

Not that I'm expecting things to be back to normal any time soon, even with the vaccines, considering the new strains.

There is only one strain in circulation, the Wuhan strain, anyone who says otherwise is wrong. The original SARS strain is still in labs, but it's contained.
 
I hope my vaccine shot isnt as painful as my estrogen shots! YOWCH! If the doc says its good, then trust me, its good ;)
 
At this point? Likely not.

Earlier, I wanted to wait and see if something bad would come from these new vaccines. I was already skeptical of them because of how they'd been rushed out there, and now that I've seen and heard stories about people having blood clots (several countries have pulled the J&J vaccine because of this) and other bad side effects thanks to things like news outlets talking about this and other screenshots of people talking about side effects they've experienced being shared in the Coronavirus megathread, I'm leaning more towards the "not getting it" camp. I think it should be noted that I have a 99% survival rate if I catch covid. Negrate me all you want, I don't care.
 
I mean, the death rate of covid is higher than the chance of getting severe side effects from the vaccine, soooooo...
(And I say that as someone who had pretty rough reactions to the shot, and also had covid.)
