If there's ever been a point where Nelson needs to pull off a perfect cross-exam, it's now.

How come they get to bring potato dude back to say a bunch of bullshit after the defense is done?

Does the defense get another turn after this mick?
This is rebuttal, the final phase of the trial before closing arguments. The state has a right to rebut anything the defense witnesses stated so that all arguments are presented. The defense's witnesses are basically rebuttal already, and they get to cross-examine all the state's rebuttal witnesses.

Damn I wonder if Judge Cahill is going to declare a mistrial after the rebuttal or not. He probably just gave them a warning (stupid), but if Tobin brings it up again, that's the end.

BREAK TIME!!!! (in place)

I think some of you misheard. My understanding was that the clarification Blackwell asked for indicates that this evidence was in existence before the trial, but had not been disclosed to the prosecution until yesterday, and it was provided to them, they did not seek it out. Therefore, bringing it up could not cause a mistrial. If the prosecution had proactively obtained/created new evidence DURING the trial, then yes it would be a mistrial. That's my understanding at least.

@AnOminous can you weigh in?

It would most likely be done after today and filed by Nelson, I'm not sure how they'd go about it, but flat out going against what the judge has said is fuck retarded when he just warned you that it would cause a mistrial.

Fuck me for never realizing before that it's Chauvin himself who's sitting next to Nelson. I was assuming that he was some aide the whole time.

There should be some decent penalty at least for a prosecutor bringing up something the judge had explicitly told they they could not do. Like I get the whole thing can be declared a mistrial so they lose but the judge can give pretty stern penalties to the lawyer themselves for disobeying their orders.
