4,5, and 6 were in a bundle for $20 and 4 was $20 on its own so why not pay the same price for all 3 lol. 5 and 6 are weaker than the rest, but still enjoyable imo.

5 was a little too co-op focused for my taste, it really feels like the gameplay was based on the idea you're playing with a buddy. 6 is your typical bombastic Hollywood-style constant action with giant monsters, stupid but fun.
If you want the feel of original RE from the 90s, go for 0 and 1 (remasters are fine and they won't hurt your eyes and ears like the real thing would).
4 is probably the best balance of action, weirdness and creep factor and for me the best in the series.
New 2 and 3 remasters I'm yet to play so can't give you any opinion.
