I urge you to look into how much it costs to rent in some places. Living in Ontario, Canada, you need to be at least two hours out from Toronto to get anything relatively decent rent-wise. Many people take the long commute to get from their home to their job in southern Ontario because renting in and around Toronto is a fucking nightmare. That $1139 is nowhere near a decent living wage in Canada with our inflated prices.

You basically answered your own question here. Even if this troon lived in a rural area, it'd still be struggling. The more rural you go, the less access to things you have which makes it even worse for someone who has no one to rely on for important things like groceries. Internet isn't cheap in rural areas and wireless service in Canada is a joke. Canada is the one place you can make $14/hour and still have to work three jobs to get anywhere.
