I think there are a lot of pro-troon or at least troon-tolerant straight men simply because it doesn't affect them as much.
I imagine many straight men have male friends who transition, and they want to be supportive and TIF's, as others have said, are relatively easy to ignore. Plus "TERF" is often used as just a term for "any woman I dislike," more often than not, so hating on TERFs basically gives a lot of men a way to bash women they dislike in a more PC-way than just calling them ugly bitches.

Straight liberal/lefty men are basically what you said, but with an added bonus if you're a sociopath: nonbinary AFAB people are probably insecure enough that they're willing to sleep with you for attention, and often don't even look like anything other than alt/punk/goth girls. Since FTMs/female nonbinaries aren't a threat, they're more of a novelty, and if they're the rare sane variety, they're a bit like having a tomboy friend that likes to hang out and drink beers with the guys. Sure, she's not "one of the guys" on a deeper level, but she's not gonna make you really uncomfortable like the trender pink-hair undercut they/he/it/bun nightmare type.

Straight men I have known to be around trans women/transfem people a lot always seem slightly uncomfortable, but not willing to rock the boat. Due to my level of experience being around trans people (not gonna powerlevel), they do sometimes quietly ask me why I think they act that way, and say without saying it that they'd never be interested in one. In part, I think part of it is that, given the percentage of transbians, they assume they will never be hit on by one, either.
