Weird thing is almost all the public reaction I've seen to this in my sphere is entirely in favor of keeping 230 as is. I really do hope Josh is wrong and waits it out to see. This is genuinely the only place I've felt free to be myself and share my experiences. I don't know where else on the internet I'd go if KF shut down.

The right will be getting a lot more serious and a lot less "fun", but you can just keep treating life like a game, pretending nothing is at stake. Why would there be? We're headed for a utopia after all, and according to my high school education, nothing has happened since World War 2.

I cant see the big tech giants being behind this either. Sure, they have the money to survive lawsuits now, but in a future where, say, facebook can sue google for bad search results and vice versa, that big money means nothing. In the event 230 is repealed, the resulting collapse of user engagement and mass censorship will result in both user data and internet ad revenue will plummet. As ban happy as these companies are they know, deep down, that they will lose money without the government's immunity. After all it isn't just mountain jews and gay mukbangers that know how to file lawsuits to waste the time of websites and pull gayops.

Nowhere else is, ironically, as accepting of people who aren’t just cookie cutter copies of each other. 4chan is too normie to be interesting, Reddit is Facebook for slightly younger people, I don’t have friends so Discord is out, it’s bleak out there. Kiwifarms is really the only site I am active on anymore. I started lurking here in 2014? 2015? and abandoned all social media other then KF in 2017. I've watched hobbyist forums and tech forums either implode of wither to dust. Discord is a clusterfuck, and the few friends IRL I have that use PCs are hardly on anymore. Gaming forums have become faggot magnets and the hobby itself has rotted to its core

If KF were to go offline I'd probably disconnect from the internet altogether outside of bill paying. I already invested in a NAS to backup my favorite video internet content, and have local backups of different archives of webpages I particularly enjoy reading. I've been working on backing up games, and I'd absolutely download the KF torrent and spend some time reading it.

Everything I used to browse back in the day is dead. It's like walking through the ash covered streets of a nuked Hiroshima, watching a totally alien city overtake it.
 
Let's just hope if there's a reform, it will only affect those sites that are mass media and social. Something more close knit *cough* shouldn't be affected.
