There might be a few reasons as to why tips have been slow as of late. Here are some of my theories.
1. The Vest Streak really squeezed most paypigs completely dry. As I indicated during the Cuck Streak, Phil was getting extremely greedy and constantly pushing the envelope to make sure the Streak continued no matter what the financial consequences in the future might be once the streak was over. These people don’t have an infinite amount of funds and as exemplified by their awful spending habits (such as donating to awful content creators), they’re most likely not fiduciary conscious people. Maybe their impulsive spending habits are not feasible given the current economic landscape.
2. Economic impacts due to COVID are affecting a lot of people adversely and his paypigs are not exempt from the depression our economy is going through. Most of his paypigs are working class Joes who all appear to work minimum wage jobs with a few exceptions who appear to be working decently paying salary jobs (whom I assume were the 2-3 whales who were solely keeping the Vest Streak alive during the last two months of its existence). Everyone is going through a difficult time currently and people are most likely tightening their spending habits.
3. The holiday season is coming up with two new-gen console releases. During a time of economic hardship, the paypigs who are planning on buying these expensive pieces of hardware must make the choice to either spend it on the pig or for their own personal enjoyment. Once in a great while, it appears their neurons connect and common sense prevails where in this instance, spending money for their own entertainment instead of someone else’s is a determining factor in whether or not donating to the pig is a superfluous expenditure in the moment.
4. Phil’s begging narratives are simply falling apart. @Surly_Muppet has been doing a great job of summarizing how nonsensical Phil’s lies have become and how difficult it has become for him to keep a string of coherent stories as to why he really needs your tips. I remember when Phil was gloating about the granting of his bankruptcy at the same time of the Fag Streak’s ascent, I thought he’d be in trouble the moment the momentum of that dumb streak ended because he’d have very little excuses in the way of coming up with a new narrative to constantly cry about “being in the red.” His reliance on being in debt and constantly needing your money was a great excuse to squeeze his audience but that excuse is gone now, hence why new begging methodologies have come about.
5. The chargeback saga have started to make some of the paypigs question the begging narratives in general. The Gay Streak was a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it was a financial positive for Phil; on the other, it made his “success” too public and too open for everyone to see. Hence why when he cries about a $100 chargeback, it’s still too fresh in his paypigs’ memories about how he was making upwards of $300 cash for almost 6 months and therefore why $100 would all of a sudden be a big deal. Even for these simpletons, it’s just too sketchy that a few hundred dollars worth of chargebacks (never presented with evidence or accompanied with screenshots on Twitter) could potentially break or make the pig after racking out for months on end.
Again, these are just some theories I thought of and could be completely wrong on all of them. I believe there’ll be some uptick in tips once the PS5 comes out but I’m not sure if he’s even getting it this week if he still hasn’t paid for his preorder. Which would be fucking hilarious to see after all this flexing and acting special for preordering a fucking console were to fall through.
