If what the Vickers say is true and assuming that Faith isn't lying, Faith wanted to have a child in her mid twenties. Ralph came into the picture and suddenly she wanted to be pregnant at 18.
Either she is truly mentally ill or mainpulative as she is, she thinks having a baby is her "Get Out of Jail Free" card out of the situation she landed herself in.
It is going to backfire. Ralph and Faith can't take care of the child. The best thing to happen right now for the child is for the Vickers to drag Faith back home.
