Fighting for RBG's seat gives the Progressives reason to turn out. Already losing the battle will leave them to busy raging to actually go to the polls. The only way for Murkowski and Collins to keep their seats is to vote now so it can't be used to drive turnout. And if they get voted out anyway, at least they didn't waste their vote and save it for their replacement.
