I don't know if my iron gets cool enough to do the nylon flags, but you can still hang it up to steam it to dewrinkle. That's what I do most of the time with my clothes anyway because I'm lazy.

You can get nylon flags to go straight (troons, going straight?) if you hand-wash them and let them air-dry hanging down.
Edit: those el cheapo flags might not take washing, even gently, very well, though. I suspect the dye would leach out and fade after five minutes in soak.
