Call me crazy but to me it always sounded like Shannon's story about having a compsci degree was absolute bullshit. I always got the impression that he was just the type of guy that built his own PC, picked up a few advanced tricks along the guy and used that to hide behind as a lie while working at trader Joe's.

Shannon could put the rumors to rest just by saying the granting institution. Pretty much all colleges have directories to check if an individual completed a degree. He won't say because it's more likely than not he never was awarded a degree of any kind and probably only took one class at a community college he dropped out of ten years ago, but who knows?
