None of these foods scream 80s to me. Bagel Bites became big in the 90s with their famous, "pizza in the morning..." commercial and Doritos, while around since the 60s, really became the pop culture snack in the 90s with their Super Bowl ads.

Very low effort.

With her 1920s mukbang I figured she had ordered her teaser set from Amazon, so I searched amazon.ca and found the exact set. When she teased the time warp and then let it slip that it was an 80s one I just went back to amazon.ca and searched for 80s costume and figured she'd fancy herself Madonna ;)

This has got to be the lowest effort time warp mukbang I've seen her do. I actually did a search of 80s food yesterday on google to try and see what I thought she might make. I'm actually surprised (though I shouldn't be) that she didn't actually make anything. I'm shaking my head at her choices for an 80s themed/era meal.

One thing Chinny never disappoints on is her sodium intake, that's for sure. 1240mg of sodium just for that can of slop. Close to 1000mg of sodium for the entire pack of bagel bites. A serving of those doritos is only 12 chips and 180mg of sodium. She dumped out at least half the bag if not more and of course washes it all down with a diet coke.

I can't believe all she could come up with was doritos, bagel bites, and spaghetti o's. She said this types of videos will have more processed food because that's what people have moved toward. Does she think people didn't make homemade meals in the 80's? I found this on google and she could have made any of these from scratch:

I'm surprised she didn't make Sloppy Joe's. That is the kind of food I think of from the 80s and it's something she probably would enjoy.

And while she was wrongly focused on Bagel Bites, which are very much a 90s era food, she missed the more decade-obvious choice of pizza rolls.

I'm pretty sure even sushi would have been more 80s-centric as that's when it became popularized in America (and I assume Canada).

She falsely claims spaghetti-o's came out in the 80s. A quick google search shows they came out in 1965. She's right about the other two being out in the 80s but so far off the mark with the first.

She wants to save those for her TMI storytime, because she's going to tell us the made up story of the guy named Sloppy Joe.

Also I truly feel her 80s eyebrows look way better and more normal than her usual eyebrows.
 
Since she likes sweet stuff, she could've had Reese's Pieces and an Ecto-Cooler. From what I've read (older sister/internet) those were very popular in the 80s.
 
I mean if she really wanted to eat like the 80’s she should have just done a big pile of coke, but


God that hair. The one chance to tease it up something mad and she mucks it up. I know she hasn’t much hair to tease but how hard is it to flip your head over and douse in spray, or backcomb your new self-cut fringe? Guess the ham arms were really heavy that morning.
 
Total green screen fail yet again, cassettes came out in the 60’s. She couldn’t find a mall food court picture with hot pink and teal decor? A John Hughes-esque teen bedroom with lacey frills and pink flower wallaper?
 
The glaring inconsistencies. I mean I know we know that she puts almost zero effort into these videos, into research, into fact checking. She can't even bother to do quick google searches so she doesn't sound like an idiot when she makes these videos. None of her makeup is even remotely 80s-era.

She sings "I think we're alone now" and attributes it to Cyndi Lauper. Tiffany did a cover of that song in the 80s, not Cyndi and it's actually a song that was written and performed in the late 60s.

She thinks hamburger helper came out in the 80s but it was actually invented in 1971 in response to a meat shortage. Information is at her fingertips and she still cannot be bothered.

Even her food research was poor, as pointed out spaghetti-os are a thing of the 60s. She lists off way more foods people actually ate in the 80s that we're processed garbage. Not to mention someone wouldn't have had that ghastly combination as an actual meal in the 80s.

She talks about the "dark side" of the 80s, mentioning yuppies and materialistic consumers aliking them to love interests of Molly Ringwald in 80s teen romcoms. Like she's not a consumer beast herself with a "shallow existence" as she puts it.

Also she's Canadian, why does she not make her videos more Canada-centric to provide some actual education? Why are we seeing Reagan in the first 20 seconds instead of Pierre Trudeau or Brian Mulroney?

At least she acknowledges she looks like the fat goth chick from South Park.

Also it's grossing me out that her mutton paws were digging in that bag of cool ranch chips and then all into her hair. Ick.
