The decades of media propaganda and the complete undermining of the educational institutions finally came home to roost in almost all of the corporations, combined with social media allowing people of all types to share their worthless opinions while having the ones that benefited those same corporations and (((other interests))) amplified.

On the subject of women specifically though the media that generation grew up with did not necessarily promote this modern feminism attitude, corporate female culture in the 90s and 2000s was all about looking pretty and being feminine, it was the era of "Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus", "Bic For Her", Disney Princesses falling head over heels for dashing male characters, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton munching on a Carl's Jr hamburger while washing a car etc etc.
Then millennial women rebelled against all that and decided they hated anything feminine, femininity is the enemy to feminists.
Maybe that was the result of the university system, but it sure as shit wasn't due to "media propaganda" for the reasons I stated, the most you can blame that for is making millennial women toxic narcissists, but the feminism shit was due to other factors.

You also had Ripley, Janeway, Xena, Buffy, Scully, Alex Mack, Sarah Connor, Daria, Aeryn Sun, Major Kira, Sam Carter, etc etc. It's always a slow insidious process, nothing like this happens all at once. The whole "badass female protagonist", oh yeah Lara Croft, concept took off in the late 80's to early 90's and kept going bit by bit to current day.
It's always been both. The marxists in academia push feminism and marxism and the graduates seep into various fields and begin to push more and more divisive shit into literally everything from cradle to grave, making the jobs of the marxists in the universities even easier because now people have been prepped for this sort of nonsense their whole lives. Not long after you get to where we are today where the corporations are able to manufacture the personalities of millions of people with every moral concept intentionally derived from various products instead of proper life experiences or family, because those are gainsaid at every opportunity. The now entirely marxist universities take those people and arm them with empty rhetoric, baseless indignation, and intellectual indolence and throw those people out in the world to wreak havoc in corporations and politics, making everything even worse and eventually the whole system flies the fuck apart because nobody actually knows what's real or right anymore, they only know what harry potter would do. Why can these people only relate to the world through fiction? They have nothing else!
