Problem is that they've more or less declared an actual insurrection, albeit indirectly. We're well past that point.
If these guys actually decide to attack the White House, then that is the direct declaration that they're in open rebellion.
That will also give Trump and Barr the legal go-ahead to send the troops and start coming down hard, and if they're smart about it, they will issue an ultimatum to the corporate backers of the riots and demand they either withdraw their support or risk the consequences.
A lot of elites would rather throw the black hoodlums and white wokepunks under the bus than risk having all their wealth and assets frozen and finding themselves indicted on federal charges in the best-case scenario.

I'm guessing that, unless the protest explicitly turns into an insurrection more than just people hollering on twitter (which would torpedo the peaceful protesters narrative) he won't.
Edit: To be clear, I mean unless they start trying to declare a new nation or something exceptional like that.

If he's smart, he won't do it, and work behind the scenes to ensure that the protests/riots are contained in urban zones. It's a political trap IMO, and if the Bongino rumors are true, possibly an excuse to remove Trump by having Obama's military appointees deny his orders (Mattis laying down the groundwork).
Correct. The goal for Antifa is escalation (government responding in force) and the end result is either the US Military coup-ing Trump, or a general bloody Antifa-led insurrection that sinks his reelection chance. This is literally out of the playbook for any Revolution (Arab, Ukraine, etc.)- hope that the government cracks down on you hard to give you the "See, they really are that bad!" justification to start taking territory (in cities).
The solution for this is to dismantle enough of the organization behind the scenes so that they can't continue to agitate.
