Eh, it was a predictable outcome. If Phil was actually spanked for his actions I would've been more surprised. I was one of the 16.5% that voted he'll still get chapter 7.

Seen it done plenty of times before. What interests me is the ocean of salt it generated. When did the farms stop being about internet lols? Watch, joke, laugh. When did becoming invested in this nonsense become part of that three step process?

I voted dismissal. With the absurd amount of errors and obvious lies in his filings I figured we would have seen him get shot down and told to start over and make his lies less obvious next time. At that time there were plenty of people calling for big black prison rape as punishment but nobody goes to jail for this stuff. The real punishment is just you don't get what you want. I think what we see in people's over reaction and personal feelings of betrayal isn't just because "he can't keep getting away with it" but because normal people will never step foot in court and in the US we hype our legal system as the ultimate arbitor of truth and justice. I think the reaction is the result of that false image of blind justice being shattered. Finding out that the law doesn't matter and justice is a platitude should evoke an emotional reaction in people, it's actual literal cognitive dissonance.

After the 341 I got some impressions the trustee smelled blood and being human might be willing to accept some of his lies at face value in order personally benefit. We all know that Phil's only asset of value is his home and he doesn't want to lose it. So with the trustee looking for shit to get her hands on its likely that the only ticket to a payday is his home and the question of it's true value vs the exemption. I've figured the most funny path is him losing the CC debt but also losing the house he so assuredly said he wasn't losing and possibly some of his toys. My confidence in that coming to fruitrion has gone up and down over time but it's still the path I want to see for my maximum enjoyment.

He got approved for a chapter 7 discharge by default. He doesn't qualify, but nobody raised an issue to dispute it so that's the way things go. My complaint with this thread at this point is that everybody is being premature as if this means the process is over. There's still a chance Bernie can win this election. Again, a Report of No Distribution from a Trustee means that you have no assets that can be taken and given to your creditors. You either have no assets whatsoever, or you are able to protect the assets you have through exemptions.
