Phil claims Best Buy fraudulently fired him and this was affirmed by a court. They should sue DSP for defamation.

http://ctboard.org/adlib_docs/2006/0943br06.html
What am I missing? The court said they didn't have a good reason, ordered that he get unemployment, they appealed twice and lost both times.

An 11 year gap in your resume is a death sentence in regards to ever getting a good job again. Those years that Phil decided to waste on streaming to have quarters thrown at him should have been used to home a skill set and a career. If he starts looking for a job in 5 years (he’ll be 43 then), there is nothing he can put in a resume that would even get him an entry level job in an office. The last time he would worked in an office setting would have been almost 20 years ago being a glorified customer service rep with no actionable experience.

DSP has put himself in a position where the chances of him obtaining a job that pays him as much as his current occupation will never be possible. His half-assed approach to everything he’s ever done has caught up to him since he can’t even put anything positive about his streaming on a resume: never held a fundraiser; never created a successful brand; never marketed himself; never branched out from what he’s doing; never solidified potential partnerships.

Phil is utterly fucked and a part of him knows it as he spends an inordinate amount of energy to not think too far into the distant future as only anxiety and stress await him down that road.
This is why I laugh about the way he treats people online. He is so screwed.

Are YouTube views expected to 1:1 correlate with subscribers?
No, but 6 months and only getting 25-33% of your subcount as views, it is pretty bad ratio.
Unsubbed people who come across it and watch it count as views too, so I'm not saying the sub amount is fully important but buying followers on any platform seems to be somewhat common place for some people trying to grow their channels but who don't always have the best content to do so organically, not saying that this guy definitely bought them, just said that to me it was an ironic point about the video and made me have a giggle.
Then again what do I know, I'm not a big youtuber.
When I did do stuff on youtube (very small time) I usually ended up having more views than subs after 6 months, but my subs were never over 10k so.
Sorry for OT.

Phil's degree would likely get him an entry level office job somewhere, and there would always be some customer service/retail job that would hire him. Phil's biggest hurdle would be keeping the job. Unless he drastically changes his mindset, he'd get fired quickly from anywhere.
Yeah Phil isn't fit for normal work. All the years of isolating himself from real social contacts and stuff have made him into an insufferable prick, especially if you think about it from a workplace point of view. Dude can't wake up early, always has excuses and semantics for everything, seems to lose his temper fairly easy. Heck, he might even call a coworker a detractor out of habit.

Read the ruling again. The court agreed with Best Buy that his misconduct was severe enough to warrant termination, which puts the lie to Phil's "fraudulently fired" claim, but did not agree that the misconduct was severe enough to take away his NEETbux due to the small amount of money involved ($2.70) and Best Buy's lack of smoking-gun proof that it was for commercial use.

They don't say that at all.

The referee ruled that the employer discharged the claimant for reasons other than wilful misconduct in the course of his employment.

There is nothing in the record that would cause us to overturn the referee's credibility determination. The claimant made no attempt to hide the transaction, which only resulted in a very minimal discount for the claimant. We thus concur in the referee's conclusion that the claimant did not knowingly violate the employer's discount policy.

TW;DW (Too whiney; didn't watch):
  • Phil got hired at Best Buy because of his college degree and his "expertise in electronics" ( ), to work in a new department called 'Best Buy for Business'.
  • Their job was to target small businesses and try to sell them a bunch of computer crap (basically selling magazine subscriptions except with pre-built computers)
  • Phil says Best Buy spent too much money on launching this nationwide initiative, and also "corrupt" employees would cut out the middle-man and started their own small businesses doing networking by cultivating their client list from the contacts they made selling computer crap to people. (This is called 'building a social network' Phil. I know you're more used to the demolition side of social networking so I can see why you thought they were "corrupt")
  • People on the Business Teams got paid more than anyone in the store besides Management and the program wasn't making enough money.
  • Phil says Best Buy, instead of doing the "right thing" and making everyone on these failing teams store managers, tried to find ways to fire and layoff the Business Teams (sounds like this was just Phil's location because of how useless they were, rather than a national directive like Phil presents it)
  • Phil says Best Buy "illegally framed me to get me off the payroll", "this national chain mind you!" (It was a company wide conspiracy to personally fuck over Phil, it certainly wasn't management at his location taking an easy opportunity to rid themselves of a useless dumbfuck)
  • Phil was running an FGC tournament and he needed 2 PlayStation 2's so he bought them at his store.
  • The dumbfuck cashier just automatically gave Phil his discount.
  • The employee discout on equipment was for 'personal use only'.
  • Phil says, "These WERE for my own personal use, the fact that I was using them for a tournament was besides the fact" (No, Phil. It was "fact" that the only reason you bought them was to run a tournament and you used your discount. All you had to do was tell the clerk "Don't give me my discount on these, they aren't for me.")
  • Phil getting the consoles "at cost" meant he saved 40¢ apiece on them.
  • They noticed Phil had bought a total of 3 PlayStation 2's with his store discount and fired him for abusing his discount.
  • Phil says he filed for unemployment and Best Buy tried to deny him, and then the judge laughed at Best Buy and made them give Phil unemployment (and then everyone stood up and clapped right Phil?)
  • Phil concludes, "Corporations treat people like tools-like shit and step on them (why does this sound familiar? It's like I know someone who acts exactly like that or something. . .)
  • Phil was on unemployment until a few months later when daddy Dave got his retardo son a receptionist gig at his workplace.

OF COURSE there was a conspiracy involved that got him fired. Of course. He did nothing wrong. He did everything correct. Why does my brain still feel surprised when it comes across yet another piece of Phil lore that just further shows what a narcissistic, delusional child he is? I still haven’t come across another individual this full of horseshit, and it still boggles my mind.

If Phil ever starts working at a job again, the first time someone asks Phil a question that he finds annoying or inconvenient, he’s gonna immediately snap at them, call them a “fuckin’ idiot”, and instinctively reach for a non-existent mouse to ban them. I’d pay money to witness that moment.

Yeah that's a great point. My whole thought was that maybe getting a job with (perhaps severely) reduced pay would be worth it to stop having people trolling him all the time. This all hinges on the assumption that he could actually get a job. You're probably right, he likely wouldn't be able to get any job that had any sort of upward mobility in terms of pay. It's kind of sad really that he's probably stuck streaming for the foreseeable future out of pure necessity even though he obviously hates video games and streaming. A good cautionary tale for us to not have HUGE unexplainable gaps in employment huh?

Oh absolutely. Look who quickly he was getting irked and edgy with Citibank faggot on the phone. He talks in real life as he does on stream. He can’t turn it off because it is who he is now.

Gonna have to smash the 'X' button on that one, personally. Phil in the flesh is cowardice incarnate, there is no way he'd snap at a customer in real life - especially not after his prolonged isolation making any kind of social contact a very scary thing indeed.

No, Phil with the 'can I help' apron on will meekly direct Chad and Stacey to the shelf where Bridgeport's Green Grocer stacks the canned pineapple slices, and bitch about 'stoopid cahstahmurs' later that night when he streams from his childhood bedroom.

Upcoming redemption arc, I can feel it. After Phil flounders in trying to find a new job, he'll finally realize how good he's had it all these years.
He'll return to streaming full time, only by this point his passion will finally rekindle. He'll love the games he plays, he'll truly marvel at the interactions he has with his audience, he'll learn what real pahsitivity he is after facing the cold, hard reality of his life first-hand.
DSP will finally give up on his WWE Champions addiction and put the money he's earned towards good causes. He'll make a good name for himself at last, and all the companies that refused to hire him will feel nothing but regret.
:optimistic:

Phil on his streams and Phil in real life are not the same person. If we are to believe the guy that ran into he and Kat at IKEA, he ran away and all the dude wanted to say was "Hi".

I think he could get a (low paying)job somewhere. How long he'll keep it? Who knows.

He really should sell the Wahkando and either move in with his parents or downsize to a place more suitable for two childless adults(with a soncat) who don't plan on having kids.

He could then use the extra money to take classes in something that'll allow him to apply for more kwality positions.

For people who don't know how unemployment works, you have to apply for jobs to get gibs. This means DSP went months with a finance degree unable to get a job, probably because he left every job he'd ever had on bad terms and had bad references.

A no one looking for some clout, and Phil possibly being smart and not announcing he’s going to be doing an interview and pockets an easy $500+ from a dumbass cuck clout chaser.

This guy has 3 patrons and no Youtube views. I assume he paid Phil hundreds to suck him dry in a boring interview for that sweet clout.

<2k followers on YouTube and Twitter and a whopping three subscribers on his Patreon.

An interview with DSP is worth to him, at most, $24.

EDIT: ninja'd by @darkwingosonichugorl

If my factory reopens and increases staff, had him temping I'd have his ass put in the "flush room" , where all you do all day is inject hydraulic tubing with smelly ass oil and then clear it with a high pressure air gun. It's to clear out metal shavings.
I was in there six months, that fucking smell never leaves you unless you're away from it for a week. I bet he'd pull the trigger of the air gun and injure his wrist first five minutes.

The strippers always bitched about that stank.

wasn't he shitting on games journos for being shit at games literally a week ago

That's Venomous Fatman. He did a series of interviews with DSP, Rambo, and OJ separately back in 2010-2012. I was archiving old DSP-related YouTube channels last week, and noticed Venomous Fatman/Jakejames Lugo had a link to his Discord. I was curious what kind of discussion goes on in there, so I joined and was immediately greeted by him. I just wanted to lurk, but was suddenly put on the spot to talk. I just said hello and left it at that. I notice his Discord group is basically inactive, and his YouTube channels don't get a lot of views despite him creating content for the internet for over 10 years. I purposely didn't talk to him about DSP because I didn't want to entice him into the trap of producing garbage clickbait videos about DSP. But maybe my Discord avatar tipped him off why I showed an interest in his stuff.

I think the old interviews he did are pretty good, maybe the best official interview DSP has been involved with? I listened to them about a year ago when learning about DSP. I have no clue how the second interview will be, but probably shit. If I caused Venomous Fatman to make a second interview with DSP and it turns out to be shit, I'm very sorry. I'll stop touching shit I promise. Venomous-Fatman-Discord.png

The only people Phil can do interviews with are literal nobodies because everyone else would call him on his shit. Ah-mazin.
