Animal Crossing: New Horizons - It's hard to convince people that I'm not a furry after telling them I like Animal Crossing.

Spike hit at 391 turnips per. Nothing godly, but enough for a decent profit. Send me a PM if you want a dodo code for my lovely 3* island

No need for tips, but I lack Cosmos, Lillies, Roses, and Mums and would appreciate the heck out of any donations there.

*Edit*

PMs would be too much effort for such a little gain. LHRVT is the code and I will leave the gates open for at least the next hour or so.

*Edit2*

Shuttin down for now, thanks for the visits from the couple who stopped by, those mums are a huge assist. :)

Prolly will open up for a bit later in the evening if anyone still has nips to burn and is not worried about maxing out on profits.

I tried to do the tarantula island thing last night and got... mixed results. Tarantulas did show up, but I only managed to net 2 of them and the other 10 made me faint. I did try making a hole barrier, but couldn’t get my character to jump over them to safely fast enough. I downsized the holes to just 4 in a diamond pattern, but as soon as I jumped in a fucking tarantula somehow got inside and bit me.

Any tips on how to catch these things? I really only got lucky with the 2 I got (snuck up behind one, the other was because my reflexes were fast enough to net it right as it jumped at me). Does the hole trick work and I’m just doing it wrong?
Try and figure out where the tarantulas spawn, box one in with holes and aggro it into chasing you. Other tarantulas won't chase you if one's already chasing you, so you can just casually stroll up to the rest and catch them with no issue.

If you're running with the B button straight at them, hit A when they do that little jump before they chase you. The window to grab them is surprisingly large.

Also, tarantulas can just about sneak through the gap in the diamond hole pattern so it's not usually worth it.

My turnips were 107 this morning, 149 right now, is that shaping up for a spike on the thursday AM prices or should I try to dump them now?

Also on the tarantula discussion, I try to sneak up holding A if I spot them before they're aggro'd and release when they hop. If they start chasing before I see them I just sprint away, do a quick turn once they're at the edge of my screen, they're at the perfect distance to tap A just as you're coming out of the turn. Gets 'em every time.

Sounds like it should be heading up, though it is possible that it is just random fluctuation. I would hold, especially since I am sure more people will have decent offers before Sunday.

My turnip prices plateaued today at 150. No significant spike like I thought, but I'd still be making a 41 bell profit if I sold my haul off now. Calculator indicates I might want to hold off until Friday, it might have another small spike by then.

Gonna open up for visitors for another while. Turnip prices at 391, so take it if you want some decent but not huge profits. DodoCode is 8X2JM.

I do not need any bells, but I lack lillies, roses, and cosmos, so any donations there would be greatly appreciated.

*Edit*

Thank you kindly for the cosmos, calling it for now. If anyone needs it I might do one more opening later in the evening.

Thanks again for letting me make all those trips, nearly 6 mil in the bank now. Not gonna buy so many turnips next time.

Sucks overall but as far as AC and "censorship" goes, who cares? It's already rated E. The enjoyment of the game is collecting fun little things and decoration and design. It's the video game version of flower arranging. This reminds me of that review that was posted a few pages ago by the person who thought the game was bad because the villagers didn't have deep three-dimensional personalities and 40-hour backstories. Sometimes people just want to play a cute game that has no stakes.

As for microtransactions they already kind of have them in a way. You can get a free silk rug if you're signed up for Nintendo Online. They're so ubiquitous that at this point I'm inured to them. It does feel slimy though considering that this game is in part aimed at kids.

Got a message saying server maintenance is starting at 9:00 PM (I'm US Eastern). Get your visits in!

Ass sandals. My PM price dipped down to 82 from my 150 in the AM. Yesterday was my peak... so now I have to dump mine off on someone else's island before the end of the week. (:_(

Start with the overhead camera view. It’s easier to judge distance between you and the tarantula.

If you’re having bad luck with them chasing you, as soon as you see one, hold the button down and inch your way toward it. When it faces you and rears back, freeze. As soon as it’s legs hit the ground, take two-three steps towards it and freeze again.

Repeat until there’s about one space between you two, then release the net button.

It’s slower but safer if you have the patience.

This is what I do, works every time as long as I'm playing the game sober.

20 fucking oarfish later, finally got a coelocanth. Never fishing ever again.

This is good advice if you see an extra 7,000 bells wandering around in an evening. (Incidentally, you actually have a surprisingly long amount of time after it rears up to keep walking forward without an attack, cutting down on the number of stop-starts if you're brave.)

If you've managed to force a pseudo-tarantula island and you've got them spawning every couple minutes, you'll fill your inventory faster by Dark Souls-ing it and learning their attack pattern.
