Animal Crossing: New Horizons - It's hard to convince people that I'm not a furry after telling them I like Animal Crossing.

I really don't get the racket surrounding turnip selling. I understand being cautious about people dicking around on your island, but some people are like "You can't enter my island unless you give me 50,000 bells and furniture." Why should we? It's not like you're losing or sacrificing anything by letting people sell turnips on your island. I understand why it could be an inconvenience (hence why I think it's nice to tip people) but it's crazy that people are actually being racketeers in an Animal Crossing game.

Also, I've never really done the whole turnip stock exchange (like, ever) but it might be worth getting into if there are people willing to cooperate to help you get the maximum payout. Any tips for a newbie?
It's more of a hassle than it should be. I get where you are coming from, but when even having your gates open disable features for the host wanting a 5% return on the bells you help generate is not too greedy.

*Edit*

For what it's worth I will keep an eye out on prices as well. I should be getting a spike tomorrow afternoon, here's hoping it is a major one. Despite the first part of my post I would not be asking for tips if things go well, that was more of a general perspective sort of thing. :P

I think I'm on a spike with my prices as well if the NH Turnip Calculator is anything to go by. Today's PM prices were 147 after an AM of 104, so tomorrow might be my go-to day to sell my current batch of stalnks. If the prices go way up, then I'll open my gates and anyone can go hog-wild.

Genuinely kind of pissed off that this asshole just waltzed into my fenced-in yard to sit on my chair.

Don't worry, I laughed too. He looks so fucking smug in the picture, lol.
Isabelle: "Oh, what seems to be the matter with Egbert?"

I don't like the way he talks.

I don't like the way he dresses.

>He seems confused about personal space and is about to get an axe to the dome for his trouble.

Those looking for somewhere to exchange turnip prices are welcome to the thread Discord. We always alert each other of good turnip prices, and there's a pretty free exchange of new furniture/DIYs.

Considering how fast things change in the world of AC, I would encourage users to consider this. Sheer amount of DIY's people have got in the last few days alone has been worth it.

I think I may have gotten the big bucks pattern. Unlike last week where I got the perpetual dipping prices of doom, they've been steadily rising with one small dip early on, which from what I can tell is a sign of a big spike coming up.

On a different note, I've been nitpicking on here a lot so instead I'll throw in something good to say. I really appreciate how much your villagers interact with your island. Smelling the flowers, sitting on benches, making at least decent attempts to walk on the pathways, admiring decorations, even things I didn't expect they'd do like using drinking fountains and vending machines. Truly makes all the hard work you put into your island more worth it and makes the place feel more lived in and alive.

Earlier Raymond was randomly entranced by a particular (in no way special) flower. He kept walking around it, looking it up in a book and carefully watering it. That was fucking adorable to watch.

I've noticed one of my villagers doing the same. I managed to zoom the camera in to see the book and the flower they were paying attention to was actually on the page.

There's a lot of love that's gone into this game.

ETA: my favorite things have been the variety of activities they'll do in the plaza, most notably tai chi and a coffee klatch.

God this reminds me of the time where Pango not once, but twice sat in the middle of a bridge and I couldn't move pass her fat ass.
In lieu of making bridges for such out of the way areas, I terraformed little nubs across the top of the river mouths so I can just hop over them instead of having to whip out the vaulting pole, and I swear the villagers go out of their way to park their asses right in front of those land nubs so I can't use them.

Welp. Because of the shrub update, I'm tempted to terraform my entire island again. Maybe I can fit more stuff if I just downsize my garden... If I do that though, I'm going to have so many hybrids to get rid of. Got every color but I'm gonna hold onto all my blue roses. Y'all are gonna need to pry those out of my cold, dead hands lmao

I recall someone had CJ get stuck in one of those and he couldn't use them or fix the path to bring CJ to land again since it would trigger him talking or something
